Part of the steam train package was a foot ferry from Kingswear to Dartmouth as we arrived at Kingswear it started to rain and got a little wet waiting for the ferry it also turned very cold only had a thin tee-shirt on but thankfully was carrying a coat. Once over the water to Dartmouth the rain become more persistent we noticed the local church and we always like a look in churches. Took shelter and had our packed lunch in the porch. After an hour the sun came out and it turned into a very enjoyable visit. We saw the only coal fired paddle steamer left in the world! that was hired by a package holiday firm for the trip up the river dart. On the way back over the water we sat at the back of the boat but did not realise how much noise the propeller made Beau was not happy and was very pleased to get off and back on the train, because the train was not so busy on the journey back he had an enjoyable time looking out the window.
