Windom antenna for my amateur radio

Amateur Radio Posting During the summer I wanted to put up a 283ft horizontal loop spent a week putting up the poles making the antenna & 1.1 coke antenna was fed with 300 ohm ribbon but when I tried it on the bands it was pants and was very disappointed. So decided to purchase a new commercial Windom from GWHIP I was really by the owner who used to be GJ4ICD a great 2m 50mhz DXer which I worked many times for Jersey DX now G4ICD in Southampton. The quality of the windom is real military specification so impressed with the quality & it works like it states it should do. Recently I picked up a marine band radio from a local car boot which I have been looking out for ages especially being so close to the sea which 7 miles away have fitted a antenna on the same pole as the balun but did not have enough coax cable which I picked up on Sunday at the Holsworthy rally.
